I read an article the other day that said there was no such thing as “just a rock”. Every rock, every last one of them, tells a story. Geologists have been trained to read the stories these rocks tell. The rock doesn’t have to be shiny, or iridescent, a popular color, or a little druzy. Actually, if you happen to be married to a geologist, they sometimes get more excited about the “plain” ones.
The Ben Davis Conservancy District is a special taxing district or conservancy established in 1958 to provide reliable and affordable sanitary sewer service to our community. Ben has been a professional and manager for over 25 years with over a decade as a CEO. Labradorite crystal gets its name from the town of Labrador, Canada, where the stone was discovered. It only takes one look at Labradorite’s flashy iridescence to understand where the many native legends about this stone come from. According to native Canadian tribal lore, Labradorite is said to contain the Northern Lights, known as the Aurora Borealis. In the myth, it is believed that the lights were “set free” by one of their ancestors who broke through the rocks with his spear. The lights that remained were set into stone, and thus Labradorite was born.
